Many people consider the Caribbean as the main holiday destination for sunny, tropical locations and beaches and whilst this is in fact true, there are also some fantastic beaches in the US that often go unmentioned. Afterall, the US is a big country and when deciding to visit America it’s not as simple as just flying out there. Obviously, when most people think of the best American beaches they think of either Florida or California.

However, the eastern coast of the US offers some beautiful unspoiled beaches that are breathtaking and excellent spots to spend a summer without fighting the huge crowds. For example, Ocracoke Island in North Carolina is great for families. It’s a popular beach that offers something for everyone from camping to boating, swimming to surfing.

Of course, there’s always Florida and the many beaches along its coastline. The most popular beaches are Miami Beach, South Beach, Pensacola and Daytona beaches. The further south you go toward the keys the more tropical and crystal clear the water will be.

Then of course you have the sunny beaches of California. Although the entire west coast of California is all coastal, the best beaches tend to be further south, from Santa Barbara down to San Diego. But, this is a magnificent stretch for hundreds of miles. So, next time you’re looking for some of the best American beaches, you’ll have plenty to choose from.
